Director of School Operations—Rooted School Clark County

In your role, you will work directly with our Founding Executive Director, Board, and other members of our statewide and national network to co-lead Rooted School’s launch in Las Vegas, Nevada by fall 2023. Specially, you will manage and oversee all aspects of Rooted’s operational systems and procedures to fulfill our school-wide vision for grades 9-12.
Above all, you will help us determine how we will fulfill the Rooted Promise. This work will be challenging, collaborative, and inspiring. It will require a commitment to every student’s potential to lead their learning and to succeed within our innovative career and technical high school.

Areas of responsibility include (but are not limited to):
Manage school-wide data gathering and office personnel–a small yet critical team in a school environment like ours
Manage vendor relationships and contracts–holding service providers accountable to Rooted Schools’ standards and obligations
Develop and maintain systems of effective and efficient internal controls and reporting to safeguard and track financial assets of the organization
Coordinate the annual operating budget and planning processes, in conjunction with Rooted School–Clark County’s Board Chair, School Leader, and fractional CFO
Collaborate with our local school district–Clark County School District (CCSD)–and the State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA) regarding all compliance matters
Oversee safe management of school facilities, including preventative maintenance contracts, emergency procedures, fire marshall and DHH annual inspections, and technology infrastructure
Oversee all supplies in a timely and cost-efficient manner
Oversee and collaborate with the School Leader regarding enrollment procedures and student registration processes, along with compliant maintenance of student files and information systems
Work closely with Rooted Schools’ COO to maintain (and/or improve) effective operational systems
Oversee transportation vendor management to ensure the timely and safe delivery of student services when required by curriculum and/or safety needs
Oversee food service management to ensure compliance requirements are met, including proper food reimbursement processes, including DHH inspection preparation
Assist the School Leader in collecting, logging, and communicating truancy data to school leadership and families
Work closely with Data Manager and instructional leadership to ensure accurate and compliant data processes are in place
Work directly with landlord to ensure Rooted is a safe and compliant space for students, staff, and families
Manage custodial expectations and work with custodial team members around general expectations and special events
Actively establish and offer ongoing service to Rooted’s culture among students, partners, and the community-at-large

Preferred qualifications:
Experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds with a commitment to valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion
Project management experience
3+ years in a school-based operations role, and/or,
5+ years experience in the business sector in a similar or adjacent role
A post-secondary degree from an accredited college or university would be welcomed dependent upon experience, though not required
Compensation:
Competitive full-time salary commensurate with experience, as well as comprehensive benefits package
